What Govvy is

Government work in India usually means three questions: what exactly are the steps, which office do I go to, and what does this rule actually mean. Govvy answers those three questions — that is why it has three modes: Guide, Nearby and Learn. You ask the way you would ask a friend, in any of 14 languages, and Govvy replies with clear steps, the documents to carry, the official portal to use, and — when you have to go in person — the nearest open office.

It is free, it does not ask you to sign in, and it keeps as little about you as it can. Everything you save (recent searches, saved guides, step progress) lives in your own browser.

How an answer is made

1. Your question goes to Govvy's server — the text you typed or spoke, the mode, and, for Nearby, an approximate location.
2. An AI model drafts the answer (Google Gemini), grounded in official portals. Govvy asks it for structured steps and the source it relied on, and rejects answers that don't cite one.
3. Sources are shown, with the time they were retrieved. Official .gov.in / .nic.in hosts are marked with a shield. If something can't be verified, Govvy says so and points you to the official helpline or office.
4. Nearby results come from Google Places plus service providers who have been verified by Govvy. Paid, verified providers are always labelled Sponsored and never change how other results are ranked.

A small set of durable guides is written and reviewed by a person, dated, and linked straight to the official service. Those are the safest place to start for the most common tasks.

What Govvy is not

• It is not a government website and has no affiliation with any ministry, department or agency. Official portals are always linked, and the process happens there.
• It does not file, pay or submit anything on your behalf.
• It is not legal, tax or financial advice. Answers are AI-assisted and can be wrong; fees and deadlines especially should be checked on the official portal.

How Govvy makes money

Citizens never pay. Service businesses — notaries, tax consultants, RTO and passport agents, CSC centres and the like — can pay a flat monthly fee to be listed as a Govvy trusted vendor after a manual review. Privacy, in one paragraph

No account, no profile. Search telemetry keeps rotating hashes, query length and coarse coordinates for 30 days — not the text of your search, your IP address or your exact location. Nearby uses your GPS only if you allow it, and falls back to an approximate location. Preferences and saved items stay in your browser's local storage.
